Beerfests Part 2

image

If you’re a regular reader of these blogs, first of all I’d like to thank you! Then I’d like to tell you that this is a follow-up blog to one I wrote on How to Make a Brewfest Even More Awesome (ok that’s not exactly what it’s called, but I like this new title better).

If you read that blog, then you know the basics of enjoying a festa della birra. Find a safe and responsible ride to and from the event, pad your stomach with pre-beer food, and don’t overindulge! What you might not know yet, however, is what beerfests you should attend this year!

Philly Craft Beer Festival Cheesesteak, beer… and all the money goes to the CBC, or Committee to Benefit the Children. It took place on March 5, but go ahead and plan ahead to 2012!

Classic City Brewfest As if I haven’t stressed this event enough! If you live anywhere near Athens, or love visiting, you NEED TO COME TO THIS on April 10. It benefits the Athens Humane Society. Proceeds from your responsible enjoyment go to the cats and dogs!

White County Cork and Keg Festival in Helen, Georgia. Location alone is reason enough to visit this awesome celebration of brews on May 14.

Dunwoody Beer Fest This festival, now in its tenth year, takes place May 14th in Dunwoody, GA (Atlanta for you out-of-towners). Available for tasting are an awesome variety of beer, malt beverages and liquors from all over. Proceeds benefit Camp Twin Lakes.

Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival This takes place in several different cities throughout the year and features some of the best BBQ and breweries you can imagine! I will be attending the Charlotte Festival on May 7th. Can’t wait!

Top of the Hops Beer Festival is another festival that takes place in multiple cities. Awesome line-up of breweries and music.

Redhook Sausage Fest You never sausage a fest (teehee). One dollar from every Sausagefest ticket sold and 10% of all vendor merchandise Redhook will donate back to the Market Foundation in efforts to continue support of local communities. A great September outing!

Hell on Wheels Beer Festival A local festival celebrating Harleys and Hefeweizens, Choppers and Hops, Bikes and Beer on October 29.
