Callaway Blue Spring Water, Naturally Pure Since 1930

image

Blue Spring in Hamilton, Georgia

Last week I had the privilege of visiting the Blue Spring of Hamilton, Georgia to meet with fellow wholesalers about Callaway Blue, a spring water bottled literally across the street from the Spring and distributed all over Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina.

Previously I had visited in January, when it was cold, windy, and a little murky from the fall’s leaves dropping into the pool, so it was pretty exciting to see the spring at its best – a surprisingly clear blue, the color coming from the reflection on the pool’s quartzite surroundings, and visibility to the very bottom of its 35 feet.

The quartzite which makes up the caves and pool of the spring are unique to Hamilton. No other known spring in the world can boast such a solid, clean surrounding. The quartzite maintains the purity of the water, which is best explained with a somewhat scientific term – Total Dissolved Solids. “TDS” defines the number of impure or mineral milligrams per Liter of water (mg/L).

500 is considered the absolute maximum contamination level by the EPA – basically it is unhealthy to drink water with a TDS anywhere near or over 500.

The lowest, 0-50 TDS, is considered naturally pure with nearly zero mineral content.

Anything in between 50 and 500 is tap water, poor quality spring water or “mineral” water.

Callaway Blue has a TDS of 31. Compare that to FIJI water with a TDS of 210. Yes, that’s right. One of the high-end imported “spring” waters has the TDS of “hard water.” And the price difference is astounding! 16oz of Callaway Blue is only 99 cents, right down there with the average filtered tap waters. You can’t beat it for a naturally pure, super refreshing spring water!

If the purity weren’t enough to convince you to buy Callaway Blue, read up on the history of Callaway Gardens and Callaway Blue Spring. The Callaway family has come a long way in preserving the area around Pine Mountain and Hamilton, Georgia in the last eighty years!
