We get a lot of questions about all things beer and distributor-related here at Leon Farmer – anything from the difference between ales and lagers to how many counties we service to job opportunities. So when it came time to create the FAQ portion of our web page, we wanted to make sure we got as many questions as possible answered to help our website visitors learn everything they could ever want to know about beer!
I asked myself what I wanted to know more about as a person new to the beer brewing industry, and incorporated these into the questions others have asked me. While researching the answers, I learned way more than I expected and was intrigued, not only by the wide array of styles and the depth of beer history, but by the detailed process used in brewing, the assortment of glassware to specific styles, and the technique used in pouring a bottle of beer.
Here are some of the questions I found to be the most useful or intriguing, whether for myself, for the customers we service or for consumers of our products:
How does organic beer differ from regular beer? Organic beer is growing in popularity in the United States, as is anything organic, and is definitely a delicious take on beer that is worth trying.
How can I get you to add a new beer I like to your products? There are many undiscovered breweries in the country, and while we’re constantly searching for diamonds in the rough to add to our product list, we also depend on the consumer to point us in the right direction. So let us know!
How should a beer be served? Temperature and drinking vessel are very important for enjoying a beer at its full potential, and the rule of thumb is different for each style.
Is beer distributing an environmentally-friendly business? Everything these days revolves around becoming more environmentally-friendly, as it should. Protecting the environment and becoming more self-sufficient is incredibly important and cost-effective! Leon Farmer is on the forefront of this green initiative, and many of our brewing partners are on board as well!
