Fantasy in Lights, a Christmas Delight!

One of the things I love most about Christmas are the decorations. It’s so much fun to drive around at night in December and find all the businesses, houses, and random yards covered in white lights, sparkly lights, blow-up snowmen and reindeer, designed to show beautiful scenes from Christmas stories! When I go home for Christmas my parents and I always make a point to tour the “Lights in the South” or drive up to Columbia, South Carolina for the Riverbanks Zoo Lights.

Since 1992 Callaway Gardens of Georgia (where Callaway Blue comes from!) has decorated its landscape each holiday season with millions of Christmas lights too, for a spectacular event called Fantasy in Lights. Fantasy in Lights, which is nationally known and one of the most popular tourist attractions of the South at Christmastime, attracts thousands of visitors each winter to tour its 12-plus holiday scenes designed especially for Callaway Gardens.

Visitors can drive their car through the lights, ride the “Jolly Trolley” or walk. Cars are restricted one night each year during the annual March of Dimes Walk for Babies through the Lights in November. It’s such a great opportunity to enjoy something beautiful with your family during the holidays AND support a wonderful cause!
