Year-in-Review: 2010

What a year!

It’s time to review 2010 in beer, blogs and good times. Here’s what we experienced!

Peak Organic got a new website! This one’s fancy and I heart the food pairings. They look delicious… to add to the mouth-watering beers available from Maine’s best (in my opinion) brewery, Peak began a seasonal series of ales that started with Summer Session Ale and continued with Fall Summit Ale and the current release, Winter Session Ale.

Businesses everywhere took steps to become more environmentally-friendly. Magic Hat and Kona altered their breweries to be more efficient. Local Athens businesses teamed up for the 2nd annual Green Life Expo at the Classic Center.

Magic Hat released spring seasonal Vinyl and fall seasonal Hex. If you haven’t tried these, make sure you get on the ball in 2011 – they are not beers to be missed!

Southern Tier, Magners, and Pyramid made their Georgia debuts earlier this year and have been big hits. With Southern Tier’s incredible array of Imperials, Magners’ taste of authentic Irish cider right off the boat, and Pyramid bringing a variety of award-winning ales our way, what’s not to love? Kalik, beer of the Bahamas, also entered the great state of Georgia this year. Welcome all!

Brewfest, Athfest, and the first annual Southeastern Warrior Dash were enjoyed by all who attended. Each event benefited various non-profit organizations and provided a unique gathering place for birds of a feather, whether those birds like to drink beer, listen to music, run cross-country, or a little of everything!

We began releasing seasonal newsletters over the summer to subscribers who wanted to get updates on seasonal craft beer and local events they could participate in! If you haven’t subscribed yet, do so today! Go to the main page of our website,, and scroll to the bottom. Just add your email! We only send 4 newsletters a year, and will never give out your contact information.

25 Beers of Christmas! I hope you enjoyed our almost month-long daily post highlighting many of the incredible craft brews we distribute. We are so proud to carry these fine beers! The brewers we partner with put so much heart into everything they produce, and it shows in the quality of every bottle and keg that comes through our warehouse. Keep it up everyone! We look forward to another year of working with you and your products.

As we round out the year, we hope that this weekend, and always, you make safe and responsible decisions and have fun! Happy New Year and see you in 2011. Cheers!
