This weekend, local Athenians have the opportunity to try dishes and beverages from many of the chefs, restaurants, bars and caterers in the area at A Taste of Athens. Taking place at the Classic Center on Sunday from 5-8pm, A Taste of Athens will feature more than 50 vendors and provide a silent auction with goods and services donated from businesses and individuals in the community.
It’s the perfect time to grab a bite from all those places you’ve been “meaning to try out” and haven’t gotten around to, and the best part is that it’s for a great cause! Tickets start at $45, and proceeds from the event benefit the Community Connection of Northeast Georgia, a non-profit organization dedicated to “nurturing, developing, and maintaining information and systems which empower individuals and communities to access needed resources and services.”
In addition to the tasting event, A Taste of Athens is also presenting a 10k race Saturday morning at 8am. It’s a Peachtree Road Race qualifier and will take place in downtown Athens! There is also a 1-mile family fun run/walk that morning.
Visit the Athens Banner-Herald article to read about some of the vendors!
