On April 15, celebrate the end of tax season by joining us at the 17th annual Classic City Brewfest at the Foundry Park Inn and Melting Point. As in years past, Brew Fest takes place from 2:30-6:00pm. Tickets are limited to 750 people (age 21+) and sell out fast! Buy yours here.
This year there is the addition of a “Cask Ale Pavillion” featuring 15 rare cask ales from some of the attending breweries. And speaking of attending breweries, the event’s nearly 250 beers available for sampling come from all over the world! The 2012 beer list isn’t available just yet, but check out last year’s list to get an idea of what you can look forward to. You can also visit last year’s news release on the event, which includes tips on how to get the most out of your beer festival experience!
Proceeds from Brew Fest go to the Athens Area Humane Society. It’s a great organization that serves the people and animals of our community through sheltering, adoption and spay/neuter services. My torbie cat Suki was a rescue I adopted from the AAHS in 2008 and I personally appreciate everything they do for the lost and abandoned animals of Athens. I hope you do too!
In addition to drinking beer and raising money for the AAHS, Brew Fest also provides live music from diverse musical group Steel String Session and food from Athens Steam Company Pub. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sample beer and cheese pairings put together by local restaurants.
