Gordon Biersch craft beer arrived in Georgia just a couple months ago, and it brought along an incredible history that was shared by co-founder Dan Gordon in an article published this month by Southern Distinction Magazine.
Gordon went through college, graduate school, jobs and internships with brewing in mind, and became one of the only Americans to earn a unique degree – Brewing Science and Beverage Technology – from the prestigious Technical University of Munich in Weihenstephan, Germany.
When he returned to the United States, Gordon collaborated with restauranteur Dean Biersch and together they created Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurants. Now found across the country, Gordon Biersch restaurants feature Gordon’s beer, which is brewed according to German beer standards dating back hundreds of years, as well as some of their more famous dishes such as garlic fries.
