The holiday season is a tradition of goodwill, giving, and enjoying quality time with loved ones. It’s also a tradition of decorating everything in beautiful lights, fluffy garland, and ribbons of every color for a festive feel that puts warm fuzzies in your heart.

Visit downtown Athens tonight at 7pm to watch the annual Parade of Lights, a community tradition of local businesses, non-profit organizations and schools coming together to showcase their creativity and their causes with a fun march through the twinkling lights of downtown Athens. The parade ends at the intersection of College Avenue and Washington Street, where a grand cedar tree waits to be lit for the first time by Santa Claus and his helpers.

With so many restaurants and bars available up and down the parade route, there’s no reason not to settle in on a patio stool, on a rooftop bench or by a window and view the parade from the comfort of a frosty glass of seasonal craft beer. Stay warm and enjoy the festivities! Happy holidays!
