Kona Brewing recently announced its plans to install a solar energy generating system at its brewery and pub on Kailua-Kona, the Big Island of Hawaii. The system, which is already being put into place by Sunetric Solar Company, will be completed by April 2010 and is expected to offset more than $100,000 in electricity costs in the first year. The new system will be one of the largest solar energy systems in the country among other craft brewers.
