Taste of Athens 2009

A Taste of Athens, in which participants sample food from local restaurants and enjoy beer and wine tasting, was held February 22 at the Classic Center. The event marked 25 years of Community Connection, who plays host every year and is also the beneficiary of all profits from the event. Community Connection is an non-profit umbrella agency that provides services for three organizations in Northeast Georgia for individuals in need, including Hands On Northeast Georgia and the Non-Profit Development Alliance.

More than 2,000 people attend A Taste of Athens each year. In addition to food and beverage sampling, participants also enjoy a silent auction, a cake competition, and live entertainment throughout the evening. Leon Farmer and Company was proud to sponsor this event as a beverage provider this year.
